The National Sheriffs’ Association has partnered with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) Corrections Academy to provide Law Enforcement Professionals with a nationally recognized professional certification program. These professional certifications were established through an analysis of the primary functions and knowledge of operations and administration management for each designated certification, combining experience and education coupled with testing to ensure comprehension of critical areas of focus. The TEEX Corrections Academy offers numerous online training opportunities covering topics such as inmate rights and privileges, interpersonal communications, Spanish for corrections, inmate healthcare issues, and suicide detection and prevention. These courses are designed to allow students to complete at their own pace and on their own schedule.
