Sponsored Seminar 8.4: Treating Schizophrenia in Criminal Justice Settings and the Consideration of a 2-month (1064 mg) Long-acting Injectable (LAI) Dosing Option Sponsored By: Alkermes

Sunday 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Room: 214

Schizophrenia is substantially overrepresented in the criminal justice system; the estimated prevalence of diagnosed schizophrenia is 2%-6.5% in state prison inmates and the prevalence is estimated to be less than 1% in the US adult population. Atypical long-acting injectable (LAI) therapies have recently been considered as a treatment option for medically appropriate individuals with schizophrenia as they transition from incarceration to community care settings. This program will review an LAI treatment option for people living with schizophrenia.
